TV9 – LADIES CLUB : "SNORING" – CAUSES, SYMPTOMS, DIAGNOSIS & TREATMENT………..! Snoring is the vibration of respiratory structures and the resulting sound, due to obstructed air movement during breathing while sleeping. In some cases the sound may be soft, but in other cases, it can be loud and unpleasant. Generally speaking, the structures involved are the uvula and soft palate. The irregular airflow is caused by a passageway blockage and usually due to one of the following: Throat weakness, causing the throat to close during sleep Mispositioned jaw, often caused by tension in the muscles Fat gathering in and around the throat Obstruction in the nasal passageway The tissues at the top of airways touching each other causing vibrations Relaxants such as alcohol or drugs relaxing throat muscles Sleeping on ones back, which may result in the tongue dropping to the back of the mouth. This is one of the oldest questions in the book…we have been looking for cures to snoring since the first man alive took a nap. Today there is help for snoring but the main aspect to remember is to find what works for you. Some methods to control snoring are temporary at best or they simply do not work. As with all snoring, it is always best to try to sleep on your back, unfortunatley this can be quite uncomfortable to do for most people and is really only a temporary solution.

We have yet to ‘invent’ a complete snoring cure, however there are some very good products that will give heavy snoreres a great deal of relief. Snoring is an issue that can not be overlooked as it can lead to sleep apnea, which if left unchecked could lead to you having to use a sleep apnea mask
Obstructive Sleep Apnea
Obstructive Sleep Apnea is the result of the nasal passages being severely blocked which can stop the sleeper from breathing. You do not need to be a heavy snorer to suffer from sleep apnea. It is a life-threatening disease and those who suspect that Obstructive Sleep Apnea is the problem, whether or not they snore, should consult a physician or sleep center for diagnosis and treatment recommendations.
There are of course costly medical procedures that can be done but they again are not 100% guaranteed to work. Medical procedures are costly and have been known to be ineffective in a large number of people. Other remedies for snoring include the CPAP mask which can be quite expensive and uncomfortable but it has been proven to be effective throughout the years.
The advent of the new light weight flexible sleep apnea mask means a more comfortable sleep all round. The mask itself has gone through rigerous scientific tests and has been proven to be extremley effective in curing snoring in some cases while greatly reducing snoring in chronic snorers by a huge percentage.
